OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE OLDER

I've had some of my perfume forever. I rarely wear the old ones, partially because I'm just sick of looking at their crusty, tired, old bottles. To my surprise, I found an incredible vintage perfume bottle at the thrift store this week! Amazing! I soaked the vintage bottle in hot water and Bronner's soap for about a half an hour, just to make sure the old perfume smell wouldn't linger. After that, I simply poured the contents of my long had perfume into the new bottle and just like that, good as new and even better!

GOOD MORNING, VEGETARIANS.

Photobucket

I made these delectable sammies for breakfast this morning and it was like biting into an orgasm. I sauteed soyrizo with a tiny bit of olive oil. I like my egg yokes real oozey, especially when they are crushed between two sprouted grain English muffins and a bunch of veggies. I added a little spinach, tomato, bell pepper and fresh monterey jack cheese and voila! So delicious, so oozey.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS!

When it comes to celebrating, Mexico has it down pat. Case in point: Dia De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead). This is quickly becoming my favorite holiday. Dia De Los Muertos is an annual celebration of the dead, also referred to as All Souls Day. On this day, people come together and walk in the All Souls Procession, an incredible movement of elaborately dressed people in skeletal face paint/masks. Last night did not cease to amaze. Th end of the procession turned into a grand finale with aerialists toting balls of flame and bug-like humans on stilts waving smoke in the air to the sound of bagpipes.

I love this day, simply because it gives me an excuse to adorn myself with as much lace as I want, wear a flowered veil and dance down the street to sound of drums with all of my friends.

Here are the best photos captured throughout the evening:

FRESH START

Photobucket

I have started a new blog and ditched my old one! Liberez-vous was becoming a bit of a disordered mess. I started it without any real direction other than a creative outlet through which to speak my mind. I've decided to now use it as a vehicle of sorts - a vehicle which will allow me to write about my passions and keep me on the path of my career. This time around, I'll offer more fashion specific entries, my own photography, DIY projects, "food porn," and showcase artists of all sorts. I hope this proves to be more bountiful and intriguing for all. Blogging with a purpose. Get into it.
